EDGE Learning Events

High impact speakers, teachers and authors will be brought in for one-­‐day or two-­‐day special events. Recent guests include Ted Roberts of Pure Desire Ministries; John Lewis of Bakke Graduate University; Ralph Moore of Hope Chapel; and author Hugh Halter. The topics will be practical and timely; the dialogue lively.

EDGE Regional Classroom

An interactive, classroom style learning environment for leaders, we will travel to three strategic locations throughout our district for a Friday night – Saturday morning time of study. Each classroom will feature three class options from one of these focus areas: Core Competencies, Foundations and Shared Challenges.

EDGE Resources

Still in the development stage, we would like to be a center for resources that others have found useful in their ministry journey. These could include resources like: helpful books, curriculum, outreach ideas, conferences, and even certified ministry coaches.

If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the EDGE, then he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success.

Life-­‐long Learning

Ministry is multifaceted and ever-­‐changing. We must learn to effectively exegete the unchanging Word of God and exegete the fluid culture in which we live. Our approach is to blend thoughtful study with current practice in a way that understands the press of life that active ministry presents.

Making a Difference

In order to be effective, in-­‐service training must be practical, useful and accessible. We want to bring quality education within reach of the pastors we serve that will actually make a difference in your day-­‐ to-­‐day ministry, as well as your long-­‐term growth. We want to give you an EDGE in ministry.
How the Regional Classroom Works

The regional classroom is coming to you. We have selected three centrally located areas within our district – Portland, Eugene/Springfield and Bend – to host our regional classroom. You select the one you will attend.

Once you arrive, you choose between three class options. The three options follow three focus areas:

FOUNDATIONS: Church History, Bible, Doctrine

CORE COMPETENCIES: Communication, Ministry Structure, Developing Others

SHARED CHALLENGES: Emotional Health, Conflict Resolution, Cultural Challenges
